Got a new member ID card?

Here’s what you need to know

If you recently got a new member ID card in the mail, it’s because Blue Cross of Idaho is updating some of our internal systems as part of our ongoing work to give the best service to our members.

got a new member ID cardBecause of these changes, we are issuing new member ID numbers. You will need to use your new member ID card and member number starting on the date indicated in the letter you get with your new card. Your digital member ID card will be updated on the member portal at members.bcidaho.com starting on the same date.

What you need to know

  • Use your new card and member ID number starting on the date indicated in the letter you get with your new card.
  • Destroy your old member ID card after that date.
  • Show your new card the next time you visit your provider or pharmacy.
  • Any claims filed with your old member ID number will still be processed as we move to the new ID numbers.
  • If you are registered at bcidaho.com or the member app, you don’t need to register again.

Updates to EOB statements

You may also see some small changes to your explanation of benefits (EOB) statements. Beginning in January 2023, medical and dental claims will be combined onto one EOB. This will make it easier to track your recent claims.

If you have any questions about these changes, call the Blue Cross of Idaho Customer Service Department at the number on the back of your member ID card.

Download the member app
